Evaluation Task 4: Who will be the audience for our thriller?

To identify our target audience I made an interview of people different gender and age group. I asked people about their preferences in film genres and their opinion about our film idea. I expected that our audience will be people 15-25 y.o. because our main characters in this age range. However all people I asked said that they would like to watch our thriller, which may be due to the fact that people wanted to be polite, but I think that men were more enthusiastic than women to watch it. So I think that can be a clue: to target men 15-25.
Also, I think that film will be more popular for groups of friends, rather then singles or couples.

I would say that our target audience will be interested in those things:

Evaluation Task 3: What kind of media institution might distribute our media product and why?

What kind of media institution might distribute our media product and why?

We think, that our product is not a typical thriller, so it has a Hollywood potential. As there are two main story lines in our film and one of them is about teenagers, we were looking on such films as Spring Breakers as a similar product. Our movie is definitely is not a mainstream product and looks more like a USA but it would be also popular in other countries including UK.
I think, a Hollywood independent company may be interested in production of this film. For example Radar Pictures. This is one of the companies which produced Spring Breakers.  This company produced over 60 feature films that have generated over $7 Billion in revenue.
Another company which can be also interested and also produced Spring Breakers is Division Films. I chose it because I really like the way they are working on films.

Other popular films made by Division films are The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby and Last Days in the Desert.

As I was looking on companies, which produced Spring Breakers, the distributions companies were also working on that movie.
The company I chose is A24.
A24 is an American independent entertainment company which specializes in film productionfinancetelevision production and distribution.
Their films have been nominated for Academy Awards fourteen times, and have a television division after their success with The Carmichael ShowOn average, A24 distributes and produces around 12 films a year.

The most successful films by A24 are Spring Breakers, The Witch and The Bling Ring.

Evaluation task 2: How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In our opening title we can see about 6 teenagers. They are all from the same age groups 16-20, probably the same socioeconomic group as they are hanging around together, have the same interests and wear the same type clothes.
The main character is working in the studio and the fact that he is working there for a period of time and it is set up for his tastes by posters, means that it is probably his, so his family is middle class or higher.
We also can see some shots with alcohol and drugs, which gives an idea that they have extra money to spent on it. The fact that they probably under 18 and this is there parent's money shows that their relatives don't really care about where the money are spent.
The posters on the wall show us the interests of the characters. It is clear that they are into the music Hip-hop and Rap, video games like GTA and cartoons like "Rick and Morty".
Their clothes is baggy and messy which shows that they are not flashy and trying to look like their idols.
