Designing Storyboard

The process of creating our storyboard started with the outline of the storyboard which I have posted earlier. The timing of each shot was counted and overall we got 45 shots excluding the quick switches between sets in two points of the video. Then, our storyboard artist Dora started to visualise our thoughts in pictures.

Organising casting

We decided to conduct a casting for the artist of our music video. We chose 4 people in our school which may fit the criterias we need. Then we sent them an emails about further details of our casting:

Casting ideas

For our music video, we need an artist, 2 dancers man and woman and one more man for shots with the artist.
For the singer, we still want to have a young girl, tall, blond around 20 years old. We want our artist to be confident on working on camera.
We tried to find a potential artist inside a school, here are our variants so far:

For the dancers we are not interested in a particular hair colour or look, the main thing for us is that they can dance that contemporary dance together and can kiss each other.

For the second male in our video (which will be in a couple of shots with the dancer), we just need very confident and attractive man.

Development of the main idea

I was thinking what if we will play with colours more. We'll add some kind of narrative and order to it. So we will start with shots of artist in a white bed: alone and scared, lost. Then we show the white room, her near the white wall for example like she tries to get out. The camera then zooms out and we see a red sofa. She notices it and sits on it trying to escape the loneliness through that red piece. Then the shot may change to the red room but white coach. She then quickly stands up and looking around continue lip-syncing. At the same time we can show the white bed again, how she throws all the pillows sheets and everything around.
Then the dancers. What if we also change it a little. I was thinking about less deep shot. So the wall will be exactly behind the artists. But not really the wall. So we leave the bulbs/light on the sides of the room, but the back wall will be a green screen or just a projector screen. And for example at the beginning dancers stay on different sides of the room and the wall behind them half white (where the girl is) and half red (where the guy is). Then, when he starts moves towards her, the border of colours blurring and white slowly starts to become red. Then, they start to dance together and the bulb thing starts.
The artist then becomes more confident and strong in red room. She may even dance there, showing that she is not afraid of white sofa.
Then, towards the end of the video, we see the last element. Basically it may be her sitting in the corner of that light bed, she couldn't escape or something, and then we see over the shoulder or whatever shot of the guy which enters this construction and in his hand there is a red sheet for example. He puts/throws this sheet on floor and the room/lights become red. Then we see them together in this red bed cuddling and everything.
At the end as we used to have we see the dancers becoming silhouettes.
